Exclusive Interview With A Chinese Film Director " Zhou Chong "

 


 It's been a while since we've published our last video interview on YouTube. We are having huge responses on our platform everyday. Thinking of that, we've comeback with another short interview to share more stories with all of you. Today our interview format's totally different than any other interviews we've previously published. Our today's guest is "MR. Zhou Chong" from China. At the launching day of his upcoming film's trailer (Available On Our Website), he shared his thoughts about the industry and his upcoming film as well. Due to his busy schedule, we weren't able to have a long conversation to ask him a few more questions. But, even in this short time, we've truly experienced and learned a lot from his absolute professionalism. It was such a great pleasure to have a conversation with someone like him. "Now without any delays, Let's jump up to the interview"

First Question:  what really makes you so passionate about the entertainment industry? What was your motive to take that as a profession? 

Answer:

 "I was born after 1960. In that era of material scarcity, watching movies became my greatest happiness. The lives and experiences of the characters in the movies affected our understanding of life, and it gave me a dream. What is the motivation? I want to use movies to tell Chinese audiences to learn to think independently, to find the courage and meaning to live, and to show the beauty of life."

Second Question:                                                                                                                                   what are the biggest advantages or disadvantages of being an Independent filmmaker besides those established industries ?

Answer:                                   

 "My biggest advantage: I have experienced too much life and think about life a lot. I can get closer to   the essence of life."

Next Question:   As of the current situation film industries have been suffering for a long time during the Pandemic (Covid-19) what action should be taken to overcome the situation or reset the market values?

Answer: 

 "The outbreak of the pandemic will definitely make human beings re-examine themselves, and we must make some movies that can help them redefine their lives."

Next Question:  Today the trailer of your new project is going to be launched. How excited are you and what are your expectations with that? Describe what makes your project unique or why should the audiences watch the film?

Answer: 

" First of all, I hope that more viewers who like expectations in life will love this movie; "Fish Water Affection" is a film about forgiveness and redemption caused by the betrayal of the mind and body between husband and wife. Because each of us hopes that the other party has no secrets, and when we discover that the other party has a secret, what way do we take to face it so that life can continue?"

The Final Question: As a very common aspect, what are your suggestions for the newcomers?

Answer: 

 "Newcomers must first learn to respect their predecessors, discover the strengths of each person at work, enrich their experience and feel the joy that life gives us, and then use movies to tell the audience how to live."
